Liverpool are gifted with exceptional forwards, but Genk’s technical director thinks their Nigerian striker could offer another dimension upfront.
Genk technical director Dimitri de Conde has urged Liverpool to sign Paul Onuachu as the forward could offer the Reds something different in front of goal.
Liverpool had a man advantage when they faced Chelsea two weeks ago, but the Reds failed to take advantage of the situation as they couldn’t muster a goal after the red card to Reece James.
De Conde feels that the 6’7 striker could have been the charm to unlock the Chelsea defence with his physicality and superior aerial presence.
“I’m not saying that Paul would play 90 minutes every week in Liverpool, but a club like that could really use him.”
Onuachu was a thorn in the flesh of defenders last season, scoring 35 goals to help Genk to second place in the Belgian top-flight and Beker van Belgie trophy.
The former Midtjylland man was expected to leave the Luminus arena in the summer following his performance last season, but links to West Ham, Lyon and Arsenal failed to materialise.
The 27-year-old will look to reach the heights of last season to prove to the top European sides that he is the real deal.
