Emmanuel Dennis: Toulouse & Werder Bremen in deadline day talks with Nottingham Forest cast-away

Toulouse and Werder Bremen are in discussions to sign Nottingham Forest forward Emmanuel Dennis as the winter transfer window nears its conclusion, 9JaUpDate247 reports.

Dennis, 27, has yet to feature for Forest this season and is keen to secure a move away from the City Ground before the window shuts. However, his hefty salary has proved a stumbling block for potential suitors.

The Nigeria international earns €4.8 million per year—approximately €400,000 per month—which places him beyond the financial reach of several interested clubs.

Nottingham Forest, meanwhile, are looking to recoup the €15 million they spent to sign him from Watford in 2022.

However, the financial aspects of the deal remain a significant hurdle. Toulouse’s current wage structure is significantly lower, with winger Zakaria Aboukhlal reportedly earning just €90,000 per month, according to L’Équipe.

German club Werder Bremen are also in the race, with both sides considering late moves before their respective windows close.

Meanwhile, Scottish giants Rangers and English Championship side Sheffield Wednesday have been linked with the former Club Brugge forward in recent days.

Under contract at Forest until 2026, he has not played a single minute this season and endured two underwhelming loan spells last term—first with İstanbul Başakşehir, where he made eight appearances without scoring, and then at Watford in the Championship, where he registered four goals in 17 matches.

Despite his recent struggles, Dennis has a proven pedigree, having scored three goals in the Champions League, played in the Bundesliga with FC Köln, and enjoyed a prolific spell at Club Brugge. He also boasts 52 Premier League appearances, contributing 12 goals and eight assists.
